10 Storey commercial office development over basement carpark adjacent to the Grand Canal.
The building is located in Dublin’s Grand Canal Basin, an area susceptible to flooding. In order to maximise the amount of office space available, it was decided to design the building as flood proof and to construct a floor of habitable office space below the design flood level. Flood protection measures including floors were installed to protect the building to 3.9m above street level.
The structure is also constructed hard against an existing heritage warehouse and significant temporary works were required to support the warehouse during construction of the basement.
