Conor is a Chartered Civil & Structural Engineer with 15 years’ experience in the design and delivery of construction projects across Ireland.
During his professional career, Conor has undertaken structural design of many forms of construction including reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, masonry and timber.
He has acted as lead civil & structural engineer on the successful design and delivery of numerous projects for clients in both the public & private sectors.
Conor graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (with honours) in Civil Engineering from National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) in 2004. Following graduation, he commenced employment as a Graduate Engineer with Oran Precast and played a considerable role in many of the company’s projects throughout the country.
In June 2007, following three years with Oran Precast, he took up employment as a Design Engineer with RG Greene & Associates. There he gained broad exposure to many varied facets of civil engineering while undertaking a lead role within this consultancy.
In November 2009, he joined ESB International as a Project Engineer during which time he has gained experience in the planning, design and construction of energy infrastructure projects throughout Ireland. In addition, his role has allowed him to continuously expand his proficiency in the area of civil and structural engineering.
During this period of his career, Conor furthered his educational experience by attaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Renewable Energy & Energy Management from Ulster University.
After six very successful years with ESB International, he sought a return to the Consulting Engineering sector by joining DRA Consulting Engineers as a Senior Engineer (thereafter becoming Associate Director).
During his tenure with this company, he has furthered his civil engineering experience through his involvement in the design and supervision of a broad spectrum of civil and structural engineering projects including commercial, industrial, residential and mixed-use developments, sports educational, and leisure facilities.
He guided the company through the process of attaining ISO 9001 accreditation. He has since been tasked with maintaining the in-house quality managing system.
Conor expanded his expertise in the areas of traffic management and road safety by attaining a Professional Certificate in Road Safety Audit from University College Dublin. This qualification has allowed Conor to make an enhanced contribution to civil & structural engineering projects by offering expertise in this most important and topical of areas.
Conor has a keen interest in sport particularly hurling. He regularly plays five-a-side football to maintain fitness.
