Project Description
Residential Housing Development
This project consisted of the construction of a new housing estate comprising of 4 bungalows and associated site development works.
This project was challenging from a geotechnical perspective due to the topographical features of the sloping site together with outcrops of granite bedrock. Between the outcropping bedrock, loose peaty soil encountered to depths of up to 2 metres. The sloping nature of the site resulted in the requirement for reinforced concrete retaining walls to form boundaries between new dwellings and between the new development and existing neighbouring residential development.
DRA Consulting Engineers provided full civil & Structural Engineering Services including design & supervision of drainage works, roads, watermains and the structural elements of the housing units and retaining walls. Ancillary Certification in Accordance with Building Control (Amended) regulations will be provided upon completion.
